FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK

VIVEKANANDA CULTURAL INSTITUTE is the short title of VIVEKANANDA CENTENARY MEMORIAL INSTITUTE, which is a unique institution situated in the heart of the capital of Kerala, with a meritorious history spanning about half a century.

The programs numbering several hundreds, organized by the Institution include the following: Speeches and spiritual discourses by luminaries in the field.

Staging of classical performing art forms like Kathakali, Kootiyattam, Chakyar koothu, Nangyar koothu, Thullal, Ayyappan Theeyattu, Mutiyeetu and conducting concerts of classical music and programs to provide exposure to different aspects of music of all types embracing classical, semi-classical and light including popular film music.

The institution functions as the hub of most cultural and spiritual activities in the capital. The clear-cut goal of the Institute is propogation of the ideals upheld by Swami Vivekananda, Sree Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Sarada Devi set against the cultural heritage of India in general and that of Kerala in particular. I earnestly solicit cooperation and collaboration of all like-minded institutions and individuals.
